Closed Circuit is a commentary on the juxtaposition between brutalist architecture and the sense of solitude felt in throughout the 2020 lockdown. The striking contrast between buildings built with function over form, then ripped from their usual contexts of daily hustle and bustle, as well as the seemingly redundant surveillance systems poised to monitor empty landscapes, led to the creation of this work.
Structuralist films paired with slowly modulating soundscapes create a sense of drawn out anticipation under this audiovisual installation, with a generative composition system ensuring each vista is unique in itself but remains lost in the endless monitoring.
