Lleuad Goch

Stereo Composition (NOVARS Research Centre)

2021

From birth to death, Lleuad Goch follows time as experienced by a butterfly. Spatial and sonic transformations reflect the inner and outer worlds that demarcate the creature’s existence. Through enclosed eggs, and cocoons, the shedding instars, and the dissolution and rebirth as a butterfly free from its origins, the piece is created entirely from the sounds of water – with drips and streams highlighting the fluid transformations occurring through the lifecycle of the creature. From birth to rebirth, listen as the creature completes its cycle, in turn giving life to a new sounding body.

Lleuad Goch was first premiered at the 33rd Mantis Festival (2022).
